Why Amitabh Bachchan was disappointed with KKR's IPL win
Bollywood superstar Amitabh Bachchan recently voiced his disappointment over Sunrisers Hyderabad's (SRH) defeat against Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) in the Indian Premier League (IPL) final. The match, which took place in Chennai on Sunday night, saw Shah Rukh Khan-Juhi Chawla's team lift the trophy. Bachchan shared his sentiments on his blog, stating, "The IPL Final is over and KKR have WON a most convincing victory...SRH were simply outplayed."
'Disappointing in many ways because...'
Bachchan voiced disappointment over SRH's loss, acknowledging their prowess in previous matches, stating, "Disappointing in many ways because SRH is a good team and one has seen their very grand performances over the days when they played other matches." Interestingly, Big B had been supporting Mumbai Indians this season and was spotted attending several MI matches. However, the team's early exit from IPL left him heartbroken.
'What was most touching...was young lady get emotional'
Bachchan also expressed empathy for Kavya Maran, the owner of SRH, who was visibly emotional after her team's loss. He wrote on his blog, "But what was most touching to observe was the pretty young lady...the owner of SRH, in the Stadium, get emotional after the loss and break into tears." Videos circulating on social media show Maran unable to hold back her tears as she waved to the crowd post-match.

Actor encouraged SRH with 'Gone with the Wind' quote
In his blog post, Bachchan quoted a famous line from Gone with the Wind, encouraging those who fail not to give up as "tomorrow is another day." He used this quote to console Maran and her team, reminding them that there will be other opportunities. In the final, SRH was bowled out for a mere 113 runs—the lowest in an IPL final. KKR effortlessly chased the target—losing just two wickets—and securing the IPL 2024 title with 10 overs to spare.
