Amitabh Bachchan 'in pain', cancels Sunday Darshan at Jalsa
Bollywood superstar Amitabh Bachchan on Sunday canceled his weekly meet and greet with his fans, a ritual he has maintained for the past 36 years. Citing issues with his health, the 76-year-old actor could not meet his fans for the Sunday Darshan at his residence Jalsa in Juhu. The actor says he's in bed and in pain. Not doing Sunday Darshan, in bed, in pain: Bachchan
On Sunday, Bachchan wrote on his official blog, "Ef (extended family) and others .. not doing the Sunday Darshan today .. in bed .. pain .. inform all .. nothing to worry, but unable to come out." Once before as well, the actor had canceled the Sunday Darshan in 2017 citing health issues. Bachchan also tweeted about not being unable to do the meet.
Bachchan sustained injuries while shooting 'Thugs of Hindostan'
Last year, while shooting Thugs of Hindostan, Bachchan had revealed that he suffered many injuries. "It's not my age to do all this but our director asked us to do so I did it. There is no part of the body that hasn't been broken and there is no doctor that I haven't met. There is not much improvement," he said.
The actor has been doing Sunday Darshans for 36 years
Ever since Bachchan's accident on the sets of his 1983 film Coolie, a horde of the actor's fans come out to greet him outside his home Jalsa every Sunday. Bachchan also shares pictures from his Sunday Darshans on Instagram quite frequently.

Bachchan was last seen in the mystery thriller Badla, which was a commercial success, collecting Rs. 27.38cr in its opening weekend. The actor is currently involved with several projects including Jhund, Brahmastra, Tera Yaar Hoon Main, an untitled film with Shoojit Sircar, a mystery thriller co-starring Emraan Hashmi. He will also make a cameo appearance in Chiranjeevi's Telugu film Sye Raa Narasimha Reddy.
