Amid financial fraud controversy, Raj-DK share note on 'Gulkanda Tales'
What's the story
Acclaimed filmmaker duo, Raj Nidimoru and Krishna DK (Raj & DK) have broken their silence on the recent allegations of financial fraud related to their new shows Gulkanda Tales and Rakt Brahmand.
The controversy erupted after reports emerged that Amazon Prime Video was considering shelving Gulkanda Tales over the issues.
In a series of posts on X/Twitter, the filmmakers spoke about putting their "heads down" while being "thrown under the bus," without directly addressing the allegations.
Filmmakers' response
'Every now and then something happens to shake things up...'
In their X posts, Raj and DK shared a series of images from various sets and a lengthy note that read: "Every now and then something happens to shake things up. And you have a choice on how to react."
"For us that choice of reaction has always been clear—to just put our heads down and continue doing what we have been doing. Work harder. Do better," they added.

Steadfast resolve
Raj & DK remain undeterred amid controversy
Despite the controversy surrounding it, the director duo said they were determined to keep telling stories.
They wrote, "We are exactly where we want to be...Creating stories one after another, the way we want to."
In a veiled reference to those trying to pull them down, they added: "Shit will keep happening...someone will steal, someone will throw you under the bus...The best reaction seems to be just keep at it."
Show status
Filmmakers addressed 'Gulkanda Tales' cancelation rumors
Toward the end of their note, Raj & DK seemingly addressed the rumors about Gulkanda Tales's cancelation.
They wrote: "We just thought we needed to take a moment to reiterate this! Next up: Rakt Brahmand on Netflix; and Gulkanda Tales and The Family Man 3 on Prime."
This seems to dismiss speculation about the show being shelved.
Fraud allegations
Meanwhile, executive producer faces financial theft allegations
The controversy over Raj & DK's shows intensified after the executive producer of Rakt Brahmand was accused of stealing money on set. An undisclosed amount, estimated to be between ₹2-3 crore, was reportedly stolen from the production.
Raj & DK are producing Gulkanda Tales, a period sex comedy with Pankaj Tripathi, Abhishek Banerjee, and Kunal Kemmu for Prime Video.
The trio is also working on Rakt Brahmand, a fantasy action series for Netflix with Aditya Roy Kapur as the lead.
