'Rings of Power' S1 coming on Samsung TV for free
Amazon is offering the first season of its big-budget series, The Lord of the Rings: The Rings of Power, for free on Samsung devices. This move comes ahead of the show's Season 2 premiere and aims to attract a larger audience. The eight-episode first season will be available on Samsung TV+, a free ad-supported streaming platform pre-installed on Samsung TVs and Galaxy devices.
Free streaming for first time
The first season of Rings of Power will be available for free streaming from August 15-28. This is the first time the entire season, which originally aired in September-October 2022, will be accessible without charge. The second season of the series is set to premiere on August 29 on Amazon's paid streaming service, Amazon Prime Video.
Amazon aims to boost viewership
By offering the first season of Rings of Power for free, Amazon hopes to increase viewership for the upcoming second season. The show, inspired by J.R.R. Tolkien's works, will be accessible to 300M screens in the US, Canada, Brazil, the UK, and Germany via Samsung TV+. This strategy is expected to attract a larger audience for Season 2.
