Sivakarthikeyan's 'Amaran' nears ₹130cr mark after 9 days
The Tamil film Amaran, starring Sivakarthikeyan and Sai Pallavi, is creating waves at the box office. After a phenomenal first week, the movie witnessed a spike in earnings on its second Friday and may soon cross the ₹150cr mark. The film was released on October 31 and has performed strongly despite competition from other big releases in the Diwali holiday season.
'Amaran' Day 9 collection and theater occupancy detailed
On its ninth day, Amaran earned ₹7cr, taking its total net collection to ₹121.85cr. The film registered a Tamil occupancy of 37.36% on Friday. This was divided into 21.74% for morning shows, 31.87% for afternoon shows, 40.68% for evening shows, and a high of 55.14% for night shows. In Telugu theaters, the movie had occupancy of 28.95%.
'Amaran' plot and production budget revealed
The film revolves around the Qazipathri Operation in Shopian in 2014 and zooms in on the life of Major Mukund Varadarajan. Bhuvan Arora, Rahul Bose, and Suresh Chakravarthy also play key roles in the film. Directed by Rajkumar Periasamy, it was reportedly made on a budget of ₹130cr. Considering its current box office performance, Amaran will soon recover its production cost.
