Taking to Instagram on Thursday, he blamed his parents for his mental health struggles, accusing them of causing a rift between him and his brother, fellow musician Armaan Malik.
In a series of candid notes, he announced his decision to sever all personal ties with his family.

Mallik shared, "I've reached a point where I can no longer keep silent about the pain I've endured. For years, I've been made to feel like I am less despite spending days and nights toiling away to make a safe life for people."
"I have spent my blood, sweat & tears to create each of the 126 melodies that have been released over the last decade."
Family rift
Mallik grew distant with younger brother
Reflecting on his journey in the industry, he claimed that his parents's actions were the reason he and his brother grew distant.
He alleged that over the years, they constantly disrupted his well-being and undermined his friendships, relationships, mindset, and self-confidence.
"Through the last many years, they have left no opportunity to disturb my well-being & belittle all my friendships, my relationships, my mindset, my self-confidence."
Despite everything, he said he kept moving forward, believing in his strength and resilience.

Mallik further mentioned that he has reached a point where he feels he has lost his peace and is emotionally drained, possibly even financially, though that's not his main concern.
He also claimed that what truly matters is his clinical depression, which he attributes to these events.
While he acknowledged his own actions, he said his self-worth has been repeatedly diminished by the actions of those close to him, which has deeply affected him.

'I refuse to let past rob me of my future'
He mentioned that from now on, his interactions with them would be strictly professional.
He clarified that this decision wasn't made out of rage but out of the need to heal and take back control of his life.
"This isn't a decision made in anger, but one born from the necessity to heal and reclaim my life. I refuse to let the past rob me of my future any longer. I am committed to rebuilding my life," he concluded.
