'Zabaan Sambhal Ke' is coming back, this time on ALTBalaji
One of the most popular sitcoms of 1990s 'Zabaan Sambhal Ke' is coming back on ALTBalaji, the streaming platform confirmed. The original show aired on Doordarshan at prime time and was immensely popular largely due to the sharp wit of the actors. Directed by Rajiv Mehra, it ran for 5 years. Will the remake be equally good? Time will tell.
Mohan Bharti and his class left us amused
Starring Pankaj Kapur, Viju Khote, Shubha Khote and Tom Alter, 'Zabaan Sambhal Ke' revolved around a Hindi class at the National Institute of Language. Kapur, who played teacher Mohan Bharti, had a tough time handling his class as everyone came from varied backgrounds. In the end, their banter left the teacher frustrated and made the viewers laugh. The charm and wit was unmissable.
New show, new cast: Who all are part of project
ALTBalaji confirmed the news and in a statement said the cast will tickle your funny bones. Sumeet Raghavan, Bakhtiyar Irani, Soma Anand, Tarannum and Nyra Banerjee, have been cast for the series. Interestingly, 'Zabaan Sambhal Ke' was a remake of 'Mind Your Language', a 70s British sitcom. While the revival is good news for fans, we sincerely hope the charm isn't ruined.
ALTBalaji says magic of the show will be recreated
"The story revolves around a bunch of crazy and quirky characters from the Hindi class of 2018. Their interpersonal equations and eccentricities create hilarious and naughty episodes in the show," a statement from ALTBalaji read, and added magic will be recreated.
