Ekta Kapoor is making a biopic on Sourav Ganguly
After Sachin Tendulkar, Mahendra Singh Dhoni and Mohammad Azharuddin, a biopic is now being made on the life of ace-cricketer Sourav Ganguly. Ekta Kapoor's video-on-demand platform ALTBalaji has already begun work on the same. The biopic will be based on the book titled 'A Century is not Enough', which has been co-authored by the former India captain himself.
Sourav wants a renowned Kolkata director to helm the project
Media reports have it that Sourav is keen to have a renowned Bengali director onboard for the project, whereas, Ekta wants a Bollywood director at the helm. The ALTBalaji management recently held a round of talks with Sourav in Mumbai as well as in Kolkata regarding the same, but nothing has been finalized as of now.
Here's what Sourav has to say about his biopic
"I have had a few discussions with Balaji, though nothing is final yet. I'll have more details once we take this forward," he said. Sourav will also take a call on whether he wants his biopic to be a docu-drama or a feature film.
'A Century is not Enough' was launched earlier this year
The book chronicles Sourav's journey from Kolkata's Biren Roy Road to the balcony at Lord's, and eventually, the Indian Premier League. Summing up his journey, he has said in the book, "It was like driving a Rolls-Royce one day and sleeping on the pavement the next." 'A Century is not Enough' hat hit the stands in February.
