'Pushpa' power: Allu Arjun's 'Ala Vaikunthapurramuloo' getting released in Hindi
Allu Arjun is currently the buzz and anything related to him will click. At least that's what the industry sentiments are. After Pushpa: The Rise emerged as a blockbuster, makers of Ala Vaikunthapurramuloo (2020) have decided to dub and release it in Hindi. It was Arjun's last theatrical outing before Pushpa. Reports say the Hindi version will grace cinema halls on January 26, 2022.
Why does the story matter?
Pushpa entered the coveted Rs. 300cr club quite smoothly, eventually becoming 2021's highest grosser. Even Kabir Khan's 83—led by Bollywood star Ranveer Singh—seemed weak in front of the film on red sandalwood smuggling. Given the lucrative situation, and also that new films are hardly releasing owing to COVID-19 restrictions, it's a good call to let the Hindi audience enjoy a scorcher named Ala Vaikunthapurramuloo.
'Ala Vaikunthapurramuloo' was a massive hit upon release
Released around Sankranti 2020, the Trivikram Srinivas-directorial earned Rs. 200cr, even without a Hindi version. This is another solid reason why this is a smart move. Not just with the story and the performances, but the film hit it right with its music, too. One of its songs, Butta Bomma, composed by S Thaman and sung by Armaan Malik, is Spotify's most-streamed Telugu song.

This is the story of 'Ala Vaikunthapurramuloo'
Apart from Arjun, its ensemble cast included Tabu, Pooja Hegde, Nivetha Pethuraj, Murali Sharma, and Sachin Khedekar, among others. The action-drama tells the story of Valmiki (Sharma), who swaps his infant with his boss's child (Bantu), as they are both born the same day. He does it thinking about the betterment of his child. The events that follow form the crux of the story.
It is being remade in Hindi, Kartik Aaryan to lead
Ala Vaikunthapurramuloo is also being made in Hindi. Titled Shehzada, it features Kriti Sanon Kartik Aaryan, and Sanju actors Manisha Koirala and Paresh Rawal. The shooting of this movie began last year and it will release in November 2022. Coming back to the Telugu hit, its Hindi dubbed version doesn't seem to face any competition as there are no major releases on Republic Day.
