Know all about 'Love Hostel', a crime-thriller backed by SRK
Streaming platform ZEE5 is all set to release the movie Love Hostel on February 25. Contrary to its title, the project is a crime-thriller tagged to be "not your ordinary love story." Written and directed by Shanker Raman, the film stars Sanya Malhotra, Vikrant Massey, and Bobby Deol. It is backed by Shah Rukh Khan's Red Chillies Entertainment. Here's everything you need to know.
Bobby Deol aka Dagar's 'menacing avatar' was unveiled on Wednesday
Earlier on Wednesday, makers had dropped the first look poster for Deol's character, named Dagar. The Badal actor can be seen sporting a rough, salt-and-pepper hairdo, donning an earthy look. Most importantly, he holds a gun in the poster and has been described as the "nemesis of star-crossed lovers," presumably Malhotra and Massey. We expect the other leads' character posters to drop soon.

Malhotra and Massey were easy choices: Director Raman
The film is said to be a survival tale of a couple chased by a ruthless mercenary, and Raman said Massey and Malhotra were "easy" choices for their roles. "[The actors] were an easy choice. Their body of work speaks volumes. More importantly, they loved the script. It is always a pleasure to work with actors who love the written word," he told IANS.
Deol, however, was not initially sure about signing it
But Deol's casting was a different tale. "It was Gaurav Verma from Red Chillies who suggested that we could narrate the script to Bobby. I feel that was one of the best things to have happened," Raman said. Although Deol gave them "great feedback," he "wasn't sure if he wanted to do it." He agreed only after the makers gave him a rehashed draft.
Second collaboration between Red Chillies and ZEE5
Once Deol was on board, he "absolutely surrendered" to the process and "brought credibility to the role with total commitment," Raman shared. As per the official synopsis, this will be "a survival tale in the game of power, money, and principles, with mayhem and bloodshed." The film premieres this month. Before Love Hostel, Red Chillies and ZEE5 collaborated on Abhishek Bachchan's Bob Biswas.
