'Game of Ayodhya' director wants Advani to see the film
Debutant director Sunil Singh has come up with an unusual film 'The Game of Ayodhya' which deals with an unsual love story of a Hindu and a Muslim, that is slated for release on December 8. The director plans to hold a special screening of the film for BJP leader LK Advani and SP chief Mulayam Singh Yadav. Here's why!
Why a special screening for Advani?
The film deals with a controversial subject of a Hindu-Muslim love story in the backdrop of Babri Masjid demolition. Politician LK Advani was held responsible for the demolition of Babri Masjid. So the filmmaker wants Advani to see the film along with Mulayam Singh Yadav. He says, "Mai chahta hu mandir todne wale aur banane wale, dono saath mein film dekhein."
Director reveals the film's storyline
The protagonist of the film is a journalist who's covering Advani's yatra. After his love story faces issues because of the demolition, he goes back to the yatra and discovers the political developments that led to the tragic event. 'The Game of Ayodhya' is based on Liberahan commission's report that the BJP has dumped, the director revealed.
What is Liberhan Commission?
The Liberhan Commission was an inquiry-board commissioned by the Government of India to investigate the demolition of the Babri Masjid in Ayodhya in 1992. It was led by retired High Court Judge MS Liberhan. The board was formed by an order of the Indian Home Ministry after the demolition of the Babri Masjid in Ayodhya on 6 December.
The film likely to face hurdles
The director revealed that during the shoot of the film in Ayodhya they did not disclose the subject to people, otherwise, they would not have let them shoot the film. He also clarifies that they have not picked sides but shown the things as they were. CBFC has not given them a certificate but Film Certification Appellate Tribunal (FCAT) has passed it recently.
