Netflix's 'The Lincoln Lawyer 3': Release date, cast, plot details
Netflix's popular series The Lincoln Lawyer is set to return for a third season on October 17. The show, based on Michael Connelly's namesake novel series, follows the intriguing life of defense lawyer Mickey Haller (Manuel Garcia-Rulfo), who usually works right out of his car. Unlike the previous season which was divided into two parts due to Hollywood strikes in 2023, all 10 episodes of Season 3 will be released simultaneously. We can't wait, can you?
Returning cast and new faces in Season 3
The season will see Garcia-Rulfo reprise his role as Haller. He'll be joined by Becki Newton as Lorna Crane, Angus Sampson as Dennis "Cisco" Wojciechowski, and Jazz Raycole as Izzy Letts. However, Neve Campbell's character Maggie McPherson will have a reduced presence. The show has also welcomed several new members such as Merrin Dungey (Judge Regina Turner), Allyn Moriyon (Eddie Rojas), John Pirrucello (William Forsythe), Philip Anthony-Rodriguez (DA Adam Suarez), and Maisie Klompus (Annabeth Stephens), among others.
Season 3 plot: A unique twist on the case-per-season formula
The Lincoln Lawyer Season 3 will adapt The Gods of Guilt, the fifth book in Connelly's series. In this season, Haller defends a person accused of murdering one of his longtime clients, Glory Days. Co-creator and showrunner Ted Humphrey has revealed that the new season will begin with a flashback sequence not present in the book, providing insight into Haller's past. This narrative approach is expected to add depth to both the plot and emotional dynamics of the upcoming season.
The game will turn dangerous this time
Goodreads describes the book as, "Mickey Haller gets the text, 'Call me ASAP - 187,' and the California penal code for murder immediately gets his attention. Murder cases have the highest stakes and the biggest paydays and...always mean Haller has to be at the top of his game." "When Mickey learns that the victim was his former client, a prostitute he thought he had rescued and put on the straight and narrow path, he knows he is on the hook..."
How many seasons will the show have?
Humphrey told TV Insider, "We do have a plan through four seasons so far, and we have plans for more than that if we are so fortunate to be able to continue to do the show." "We have plans for more than that, but we particularly have the next two seasons planned out that hopefully we'll get a chance to do, and we know what books those will be based on."
