JYP Entertainment announces global launch of new boy band, NEXZ
JYP Entertainment has officially announced the global debut of its latest boy band, NEXZ, set for May 20 (KST). The announcement was made through a video titled NEXZ Ride the Vibe Trailer, released on their official SNS channels at midnight on May 1 KST. The agency confirmed that NEXZ will release their debut single Ride the Vibe on the same day, marking their formal entry into the music industry.
NEXZ: The next-generation band from JYP Entertainment
NEXZ, the latest boy band from JYP Entertainment, was formed in 2023 during Season 2 of the Nizi Project. This project is a joint venture between JYP Entertainment and Sony Music Japan. The name 'NEXZ,' short for 'Next Z(G)eneration,' represents JYP's vision to create a band that will redefine music and performance in the upcoming era.
It has seven members, know about them
The Japanese group consists of seven members, all of whom get separate focus in the trailer video. The members include Tomoya, Yu, Haru, So Geon, Seita, Hui, and Yuki. Tomoya is the leader of the team. Before their debut, NEXZ had dropped two pre-debut digital singles, Miracle and Miracle (Korean Ver) back in December 2023.
JY Park expressed high hopes for NEXZ's future
During the member revelation, JY Park, chief producer of JYP and judge on Nizi Project, expressed his hopes for NEXZ. He stated, "I hope that NEXZ will pave the way for the future with the next generation." This sentiment reflects Park's aspiration for NEXZ to lead a new era in music and performance. Ride the Vibe will be out at 6:00pm.
