What's the story
Celebrated Hollywood filmmaker Christopher Nolan, who has directed movies such as 'Dunkirk', 'Interstellar', 'Inception', 'The Dark Knight Trilogy' among others, has arrived in Mumbai for his three-day visit to India.
Nolan is being accompanied by his wife Emma Thomas and acclaimed visual artist Tacita Dean.
He has been invited by the Film Heritage Foundation, which is headed by film archivist Shivendra Singh Dungarpur.

Nolan has flown down here for a special cause
Nolan is touring India to share his views on the importance of celluloid in the digital age and engage in a conversation about film preservation and restoration.
On day one in Mumbai, the Oscar-nominated director held a session on the need of better archival methods for preserving films. The event was held at the plaza of Dr. Bhau Daji Lad Museum.

Context
The main purpose of Nolan's trip
Nolan's India visit has been structured around an event called 'Reframing the Future of Film: In Conversation with Christopher Nolan, Tacita Dean and Shivendra Singh Dungarpur'.
It will be held at Tata Theatre, NCPA, Mumbai on April 1.
Also, two of his directorial ventures, 'Dunkirk' and 'Interstellar', will be screened in the city.
