Alia's 'Jigra' gets U/A certificate; CBFC reveals film's duration
The highly anticipated Bollywood film Jigra, starring Alia Bhatt and Vedang Raina, has been granted a U/A certificate by the Central Board of Film Certification (CBFC). The official CBFC website also disclosed that the movie's runtime is 155 minutes or two hours and 35 minutes. This announcement comes as the film's release date approaches, with its trailer and several songs already generating significant buzz among audiences.
'Jigra' recently released new song 'Tenu Sang Rakhna'
On Thursday, the makers of Jigra released a new song titled Tenu Sang Rakhna. The track is a soulful melody composed by Achint Thakkar with lyrics penned by Varun Grover. Arijit Singh, Anumita Nadesan, and Thakkar have lent their voices to this song. The team behind Jigra has described Tenu Sang Rakhna as the "heart and soul" of the film.
'Jigra' music video explores sibling bond
The music video for Tenu Sang Rakhna showcases the deep bond between a brother and sister. It features Bhatt's character Satya traveling to a foreign country to save her brother Ankur, played by Raina, who is incarcerated there. This release follows previous tracks like the motivational Chal Kudiye, sung by Bhatt and Diljit Dosanjh, and Raina's reimagined version of Phoolon Ka Taaro Ka which was released with the teaser trailer.
'Jigra' marks Bhatt's second venture into film production
Jigra represents Bhatt's second foray into film production following her 2022 dark comedy Darlings. During the official announcement of Jigra, Bhatt stated, "From debuting in a Dharma production to now producing a film with them, in many ways, it feels like coming full circle from where I started." The movie is directed by Vasan Bala and is scheduled for release on October 11.
