Alia Bhatt chooses a love story after 'Love & War'
After working on action and drama-heavy films like Jigra, Love & War, and Alpha, Bollywood actor Alia Bhatt is reportedly planning to feature in a romantic film. According to sources close to the development, Bhatt has identified a script for her next project after Love & War. She is also looking to produce and act in the film.
Bhatt's heart set on a love story, says source
A source told Pinkvilla that Bhatt has been hearing several films in the romantic space and has her mind set on a particular script. "Alia has identified a script for her next after Love And War...It's an out-and-out love story, and Alia's heart at the moment is on the aforementioned script," the source said. The film will likely go on floors in the last quarter of 2025, once Bhatt finishes the Love & War shoot.
Film could be directed by a ₹200 crore grosser director
The source also informed that the film could be directed by the person who "delivered a ₹200 crore grosser in 2022." They didn't take any names. "There have been multiple rounds of meeting and the conversations are in the right direction. The film is still a year away from going on floors, and hence, there is also a chance for Alia to change her mind if something better comes up," they said.
Team looking to cast top male lead
The team is reportedly looking to cast a top male lead for the film. Conversations on the casting front will begin by January 2024. "The entire casting begins once the paperwork is done and the stakeholders are committed to take the film on floors by 2025 end," the source added.
Bhatt's next is 'Jigra' on October 11, 2024
Meanwhile, Bhatt's next film Jigra is set to release on October 11, 2024. Vedang Raina plays her brother in this actioner. She will also be seen in the YRF Spy Universe Film, Alpha, which is slated for a theatrical release at the end of 2025. Sharvari will co-star alongside Bhatt.
