Bhatt tested positive while shooting for 'Gangubai Kathiawadi'
Bhatt was busy shooting for the titular role in Sanjay Leela Bhansali's Gangubai Kathiawadi, when she tested positive for COVID-19. The shoot was halted and the actress isolated herself at home. The film is based on the life of Gangubai Kothewali, a brothel madam, who ruled Mumbai's Kamathipura red-light area. To note, Bhansali and Bhatt reportedly have only one day of shoot left.
Many from the film industry got infected and recovered eventually
Not just Bhatt, many of her colleagues got affected by what has been dubbed as the "second wave" of COVID-19. Few days before her, Bhansali tested positive and the shoot was stopped. He has recently recovered. Bhatt's boyfriend, Ranbir Kapoor also tested negative a few days ago. Other stars like Akshay Kumar, Kartik Aaryan, Siddhant Chaturvedi, Tara Sutaria and Varun Dhawan have also recovered.
For now, Bhatt has multiple projects in her kitty
Bhatt, who is awaiting the July 30 release of Gangubai Kathiawadi, is working on many other projects as well. Last month, she had shared pictures with Ranbir and director Ayan Mukerji from the sets of their magnum opus Brahmastra. The venture, backed by Karan Johar, also stars Amitabh Bachchan. Bhatt is also a part of SS Rajamouli's multilingual grand period drama, RRR.
