The Alia Bhatt starrer has raked in Rs. 7.53 crore on day one, thus, becoming one of the highest opening films driven by an actress. Given the extremely positive word of mouth, the patriotic drama will only grow from strength to strength over the weekend.

'Raazi' is being dubbed as Alia's best performance till date by the critics. The film has come to be one of the best-reviewed movies of 2018, so far. The 25-year-old has proved her acting prowess in the past as well with films like 'Highway', 'Udta Punjab' and 'Dear Zindagi'. And now, she has added another feather to her cap with 'Raazi'.

Based on a novel titled 'Calling Sehmat' by Harinder Sikka, 'Raazi' has been directed by Meghna Gulzar. This is her second directorial venture after Irrfan Khan starrer 'Talvar', which released in 2015. Backed by Karan Johar, the film also features Vicky Kaushal. 'Raazi' narrates the story of an Indian girl who gets married to a Pakistani armyman during the Indo-Pakistan War of 1971.
