7 action set pieces planned for Alia's Spy Universe film
Alia Bhatt is set to make her debut in the YRF Spy Universe and it's going to be spectacular! If a recent Mid-Day report is to be believed, the yet-to-be-titled film will feature seven thrilling action sequences. The movie, which is expected to start shooting soon, will be directed by Shiv Rawail and also stars Sharvari Wagh (who goes by Sharvari). This high-budget action extravaganza is being envisioned as a grand spectacle by renowned filmmaker Aditya Chopra.
First female-led project in YRF's Spy Universe
This film marks the first time a female-led project is being introduced in the spy universe. "While Katrina Kaif's Zoya and Deepika Padukone's Rubai from the Tiger and Pathaan franchises, respectively, have been loved by audiences, this marks the first female-led project. So, Aditya is keen to make it a cool action entertainer." An insider revealed that Chopra is keen to make it a cool action entertainer that sees Bhatt and Wagh's characters as "mean killing machines."
Expert team assembled for high-octane action sequences
For this film, Chopra has assembled a team of experts including Korean stunt coordinator Se-yeong Oh, Franz Spillhaus, and Indian action director Sunil Rodrigues. The goal is to ensure each action sequence stands out. Reports suggest that Bhatt will be seen showcasing her martial arts skills in one scene and engaging in fierce combat with Bobby Deol in another. Notably, Deol has been roped in as the antagonist.
Bhatt to play super-agent in YRF Spy Universe
In 2023, reports first suggested that Bhatt would be headlining a standalone film in the ever-growing Spy Universe. "Alia Bhatt is one of the biggest crowd pullers in today's time and she will be playing a super-agent in the YRF Spy Universe like Salman Khan, Hrithik Roshan, and Shah Rukh Khan," a person close to the project told Pinkvilla. The movie is scheduled to start shooting in the latter half of 2024.
