I have a lot of love for Sidharth: Alia Bhatt
For years, Alia Bhatt and Sidharth Malhotra's off and on relationship got the town buzzing before they finally called it off in 2017. Interestingly, after their split, the two maintained cordial terms. Their relationship grabbed headlines, of late, after Sidharth opened up on their break up. And now, Alia shared her side of the story and said that she still loves Sidharth. Here's more.
There were lots of ups and downs: Sidharth
Sidharth had spilled beans about his breakup with Alia during his recent appearance on Koffee With Karan 6. The Ittefaq actor stated that their relationship went through a tough phase back then and calling it off was a mutual decision. "There is a reason why two people decide not to be together. There were lots of ups and downs," Sidharth had said.
'Our relationship is civil. I don't think it's bitter'
Furthermore, Sidharth mentioned that post breakup, the two didn't have any bad blood for each other. Instead, they continue to share a cordial relation. "Our relationship is civil. I don't think it's bitter. It's been a while. I have known her for much longer even before we dated. I gave my first ever shot with her in SOTY, I was crazy," Sidharth added.
There's too much history between us, says Alia about Sidharth
Alia, during her recent interview with DNA, also voiced similar opinion as Sidharth, and said that there are no bad vibes between them. "I have a lot of love and respect for Sid. We started off together in the industry. I have known him for a long time and there's too much history between us. Honestly, there will never be issues," Alia emphasized.
Both Alia and Sidharth made their debut with 'SOTY'
For the uninitiated, Alia and Sidharth kick-started their acting career together with 2012 release Student Of The Year along with Varun Dhawan. However, love blossomed between them while shooting for Kapoor & Sons in 2016. Their romance was short-lived, though.
Alia did meet Sidharth after split, 'it was extremely normal'
Interestingly, Sidharth had claimed that he hasn't met Alia post their split. But contradicting his statement, Alia stated that she did meet Sidharth recently and things went on smoothly. "Sid and I did meet actually. They had shot the episode much before we met so he must have said that. But we have obviously met recently and it was extremely normal," Alia explained.
Alia has moved on, is dating Ranbir, engagement in planning
Meanwhile, Alia has moved on from her breakup with Sidharth and is dating actor Ranbir Kapoor at the moment. The couple met on the sets of Ayan Mukerji's Brahmastra and hit out immediately. In fact, despite maintaining a low profile about their relationship, Ranbir-Alia's chemistry speaks volumes about their blooming love story. Reportedly, the couple is also planning to get engaged next year.
