Alia's look as Sita in 'RRR' revealed on her birthday
Bollywood's sweetheart Alia Bhatt has shared the first look of her as Sita in Roudram Ranam Rudhiram (RRR) on her 28th birthday today. SS Rajamouli's magnum opus will be releasing in Hindi, Tamil, Telugu, and Malayalam simultaneously. The movie stars NT Rama Rao Jr. and Ram Charan in pivotal roles and is scheduled to release on October 13. Here's more.
'RRR' is a fictional period drama
RRR is a fictionalized take on Telugu freedom fighters. The two main characters, Alluri Sitarama Raju (Charan) and Komaram Bheem (Jr. NTR), fight against the British Raj and Nizam of Hyderabad respectively. Reportedly, Bhatt will be romancing Charan in the film. Rajamouli, who gave Indian cinema Baahubali, has teamed up with KV Vijayendra Prasad for the story. Prasad had penned both Baahubali movies.

The film's release was delayed due to the pandemic
RRR was supposed to hit the theaters last year but the pandemic spoiled those plans. The release was deferred to January 8, 2021, but that didn't happen either. The film finally got a release date in January this year. Besides Bhatt and the lead actors, RRR has features Olivia Morris, Ajay Devgn, Samuthirakani, Ray Stevenson, and Alison Doody in important roles.
The movie has an estimated budget of Rs. 450 crore
RRR is a much-awaited big-ticket movie that has been produced at an estimated budget of Rs. 450 crore. South India superstar Chiranjeevi has been roped in as the narrator of the film, as reported by The News Minute. About the film's title, Rajamouli had earlier said that "a universal title across the languages was essential for a film of such scale."
Yesterday, Karan Johar threw a party celebrating Bhatt's birthday
Meanwhile, filmmaker Karan Johar threw a party for Bhatt's birthday on Sunday with many celebrities in attendance. Her boyfriend Ranbir Kapoor was absent from the festivities as he is down with coronavirus. Jr. NTR wished her by sharing her first look. "Her wait will be legendary! Here's Alia as Sita. Happy birthday Dear Alia, have a great one! (sic)," he tweeted.
