'Bharat' director Ali Abbas Zafar to make digital debut soon
Ali Abbas Zafar, who recently directed Salman Khan starrer Bharat, is all set to venture into the digital platform. According to media reports, the renowned director will be directing a web series titled Tandav. It will be a political thriller, set in the national capital. The web series, which may have Saif Ali Khan in the lead, will likely get premiered in 2020.
Saif is reportedly aboard, no other actor approached yet
As per a Bollywood Hungama report, Tandav is in the final stages of scripting. Also, Ali might not direct all the episodes of the series, but will have a majority of them to his name. No other detail about any other cast member is out.
Ali to turn producer with a Ananya Panday-Ishaan Khatter starrer
For now, Ali is also gearing up for his first production starring Ananya Panday and Ishaan Khatter. "Ali was keen to cast actors who are a big draw with youngsters. Ishaan and Ananya have impressed with their first films, but haven't worked together. So it's a new jodi as well," a source told Mumbai Mirror. The movie is likely to hit floors by year-end.
Ali is involved in the scripting of his home production
Ali's first production will be a love story. "He feels this is the best subject and genre for him to turn producer. Being a writer himself, he's been involved throughout the scripting process," the source added. To note, Ali's debut was a romantic flick.
Most of Ali's films entered Rs. 100cr club in week-2
To recall, Ali made his directorial debut with 2011 release rom-com Mere Brother Ki Dulhan starring Imran Khan and Katrina Kaif in lead. While the movie witnessed average response, his other films (Gunday, Sultan, Tiger Zinda Hai etc) witnessed a golden run at the box office. In fact, despite mixed reviews, Bharat also made a lifetime collection of Rs. 211.07cr at the box office.
