3 years after on-set tragedy, Alec Baldwin's 'Rust's trailer released
What's the story
The first trailer for Rust, Alec Baldwin's upcoming indie Western film, has dropped.
The film is infamous for the tragic 2021 incident when a prop gun fired by Baldwin killed cinematographer Halyna Hutchins.
In the teaser, Baldwin plays Harland Rust, a notorious outlaw in 1880s Kansas. His character has a poignant line to deliver: "Some things in this life you can't get back, I reckon."

On-set tragedy: A live round in prop gun
The on-set tragedy took place on October 21, 2021, when Baldwin discharged a prop gun containing a live round, killing Hutchins and injuring director Joel Souza.
The incident sparked a lengthy investigation and high-profile trials for Baldwin and armorer Hannah Gutierrez-Reed.
In April 2023, involuntary manslaughter charges against Baldwin were dropped. However, Gutierrez-Reed is serving an 18-month sentence for Hutchins's death.
