'Rowdy Rathore 2': Akshay and team waiting for Bhansali's go-ahead
The much-awaited sequel to Akshay Kumar's 2012 blockbuster 'Rowdy Rathore' is likely to go on floors soon. Producer Shabina Khan has said that the script of the film is ready and just needs to be approved by Sanjay Leela Bhansali. Like the first installment, Bhansali and Shabina will jointly produce 'Rowdy Rathore 2' as well.
Vijayendra Prasad has penned the script of 'Rowdy Rathore 2'
Vijayendra Prasad, the mastermind behind the 'Baahubali' series and other massive hits, has written the script of the Akshay starrer. Talking about the same, Shabina told a news agency, "The script is ready. The writing took some time from Mr. Vijayendra Prasad. Now we're ready. Mr. Bhansali and I co-produce. I'm just waiting for him to approve the script and then we'll move on."

The director and the leading lady of 'Rowdy Rathore 2' are yet to be announced by the makers. The buzz for the sequel will be immense, given the first part was a mega-blockbuster.
'Rowdy Rathore' was a milestone in Akshay's career
Upon its release almost six years back, 'Rowdy Rathore' became Akshay's biggest hit and also his second film to enter the Rs. 100 crore club after 'Housefull 2'. Directed by Prabhu Deva and co-starring Sonakshi Sinha, the film made Rs. 133.25 crore at the box office. It was dethroned by 'Toilet - Ek Prem Katha' (Rs. 135 crore) last year.
