Akshay's character fears ghost, doesn't leave home after dark
In the poster, Akshay, with a serious look on his face, can be seen engrossed while applying kajal to his eyes. He plays a character, who fears ghosts, and doesn't leave house after dark. The story takes a sharp turn after he has an encounter with a transgender ghost. News reports suggest that Amitabh Bachchan will be playing the role of the ghost.

Principal photography for the film commenced on April 22
Last month, Kiara, the film's leading lady, had posted a picture on Instagram that showed her with the clapperboard for a shot. She wrote, "First Day of #LAAXMIBOMB @akshaykumar @RowdyGabbar #raghavalawrence @TusshKapoor and the journey has just begun." The principal photography for the film commenced on April 22 with a special song Bismillah, which will have the ambiance of a typical horror film.
'Laxmmi Bomb' is the official adaptation of Tamil hit, 'Kanchana'
Laxmmi Bomb is the remake of Tamil horror film, Muni 2: Kanchana (2011). The Muni-Kanchana franchise began in 2007 with Muni, which was followed by the 2011 film. The third film in the franchise, known as Kanchana 2: Ganga, released in 2015, and the fourth film, Kanchana 3, released on April 19. Notably, Lawrence was the director and lead of the Muni: Kanchana series.
'Script tweaked to suit sensibilities of Hindi film audience'
In the Kanchana series, the female lead did not really have much to do. However, Kiara "will enjoy a substantial part in the adaptation," said a source close to the development. "The script too has been tweaked to suit the sensibilities of the Hindi film audience," the source said, while confirming that Akshay's character "gets possessed by the spirit of a transgender."
Transgender ghost enters Akshay's body for avenging herself
The transgender ghost is seeking out revenge against all those who have wronged her, and haunts everyone who is staying in the house. She enters Akshay's body for avenging herself. The poster sure had an eerie feeling about it, with Akshay's face being surrounded by red sparks, signifying doom for whosoever goes against him. The script has been written by Farhad Samji.
'Laxmmi Bomb' to see Akshay-Kiara collaboration for the second time
Apart from Akshay and Kiara, Tusshar Kapoor, also a co-producer, will be seen in the movie. R. Madhavan has also been roped in for one of the pivotal roles. This is Akshay and Kiara's second project with each other, after Good News.
