Akshay-Madhavan's next could have link to 2019's 'Kesari'—Here's how
What's the story
After the success of Sky Force, Bollywood superstar Akshay Kumar will star in an upcoming historical drama alongside R Madhavan and Ananya Panday in pivotal roles.
Produced by Karan Johar's Dharma Productions, the movie is scheduled for a theatrical release on March 14.
A recent report suggests that the film, previously titled Shankara, has now been given a new name—Kesari Chapter 2.
However, official confirmation is still pending.
Plot details
Upcoming film to explore new historical event
Directed by Karan Singh Tyagi, the movie narrates the riveting tale of C Sankaran Nair—a celebrated lawyer and freedom fighter who took on the British Raj in his unwavering quest for justice for the Jallianwala Bagh massacre victims.
The film is inspired by the book The Case That Shook The Empire by Raghu Palat and Pushpa Palat.
If the name change to Kesari Chapter 2 is true, it could suggest a thematic link to Kumar's earlier blockbuster Kesari (2019).

'Kesari Chapter 2' title explained
A source told Bollywood Hungama, "Kesari, an emotional action film, was about the sacrifice of Sikhs during the pre-Independence era. The C Sankaran Nair film is a courtroom drama and, in that regard, it is very different from the 2019 film."
"However, since it also deals with the brave Sikh community's contribution and sacrifice against the British and stars Kumar, the makers felt that Kesari Chapter 2 is an apt title."
