Akshay Kumar's 'Khel Khel Mein' struggles to reach ₹20cr
Akshay Kumar-starrer Khel Khel Mein has failed to impress at the box office, collecting just ₹18.29 crore in its first week. The comedy-drama, directed by Mudassar Aziz, has been facing stiff competition from other releases like Stree 2 and Vedaa. This lackluster performance marks yet another setback for Kumar, whose recent films have struggled to make a mark commercially.
'Khel Khel Mein' collects ₹1.04 crore on seventh day
On its seventh day at the box office, Khel Khel Mein collected ₹1.04 crore, bringing its total earnings to ₹18.29 crore, according to industry tracker Sacnilk. Despite this, the film's total collections remain significantly lower than expected, reflecting its struggle to attract audiences.
Kumar's recent films fail to impress at box office
Kumar's recent box office performance has been disappointing, with several of his films failing to make a significant impact. His big-budget drama Sarfira bombed, while Bade Miyan Chote Miyan emerged as an even bigger flop. In 2023, his films Mission Raniganj and Selfiee also flopped. Although OMG 2 had a decent run, it featured Kumar only in an extended cameo, with more screentime assigned to Pankaj Tripathi.
'Khel Khel Mein' also stars Taapsee Pannu, Fardeen Khan, others
Apart from Kumar, Khel Khel Mein features a star-studded cast including Taapsee Pannu, Fardeen Khan, Vaani Kapoor, Ammy Virk, Aditya Seal, and Pragya Jaiswal. The film is an adaptation of the 2016 Italian movie Perfect Strangers. Despite its impressive ensemble cast and intriguing premise, the film has struggled to resonate with audiences, further extending Kumar's streak of underperforming films at the box office. He will next be seen in Sky Force.
