Heavy rain damages 'Welcome to the Jungle' set; shoot halted
The film set of the upcoming movie Welcome to the Jungle, featuring Bollywood superstar Akshay Kumar, has been partially damaged due to heavy rainfall in Mumbai. The movie, which is the third installment of the popular Welcome franchise, had been under production for several months before this incident. Despite the setback, director Ahmed Khan has reportedly confirmed that filming will resume after the set's reconstruction.
Damage occurred ahead of marathon shooting schedule
Per a Pinkvilla report, the damage to the film set happened just before the director had planned a marathon shooting schedule for the first week of August. The schedule reportedly included a song shoot and was to feature a star-studded cast of 34 actors, including Kumar. Despite the filming delay, the crew is working relentlessly to rebuild the grand set, and ultimately resume the filming.
'Unfortunate that a portion of the set got damaged...'
Reflecting on the situation, the director of the film said, "It is unfortunate that a portion of the set got damaged due to the heavy rainfall in Mumbai." "So as a creative call, I have decided to begin the shoot once the set is reconstructed. The crew is endlessly working on rebuilding the set and hopefully, we will begin the shoot soon," he added.
