The third installment of the popular Welcome franchise, titled Welcome to the Jungle, has successfully concluded its extensive shooting schedule in Mumbai. This highly-anticipated film marks the return of Akshay Kumar to comedy after several years. The movie features an ensemble cast of over 30 actors, including notable names like Suniel Shetty, Disha Patani, and Raveena Tandon among others. Excitingly, the latest buzz surrounding the film revolves around its grand action sequence.
Unique 200-horse action sequence filmed in Mumbai: Report
During the Mumbai schedule, a grand dance sequence was filmed involving all the actors and a reported 500 background dancers. In addition to this, News18 Showsha reported that nearly "200 horses were used for an action sequence." A source close to the production stated, "It will make for a never-seen-before action sequence. The safety of all these horses was thoroughly ensured while filming and the scenes were shot at a stretch for seven days."
Dutt exited 'Welcome to the Jungle' due to health concerns
In another update, actor Sanjay Dutt exited Welcome 3 due to health issues after shooting for only one day on Madh Island, reported Pinkvilla. His character required him to perform numerous action sequences, which led him to withdraw from the project. However, an official confirmation regarding Dutt's departure is still awaited from the film's makers. Meanwhile, other actors will soon begin the next schedule.
Cast will return for next schedule after fulfilling personal commitments
The cast and crew concluded their 40-day schedule a couple of weeks ago. They are expected to return to shoot additional portions of the movie in the coming weeks. Meanwhile, the actors are occupied with their respective professional commitments. "Akshay and Arshad Warsi were busy shooting for the first schedule of Jolly LLB 3 in Rajasthan. Suniel is caught up with Dance Deewane 4. They will soon begin the next schedule along with other cast members," stated another insider.
'Welcome to the Jungle' set for December release
Welcome to the Jungle, presented by Base Industries Group and directed by Ahmed Khan, is scheduled for a theatrical release on December 20, 2024. The movie's producer Firoz A Nadiadwala has spared no expense in creating an expansive set spread across 10 acres of land in Mumbai's Film City for the filming. This wasn't just any set; it was a meticulously designed replica of a Kashmiri town.
