Akshay, team of women scientists shine in 'Mission Mangal' trailer
After dropping an impressive teaser of Mission Mangal, the makers have finally unveiled the much-awaited trailer of the space drama. Starring Akshay Kumar, Vidya Balan, Sonakshi Sinha, Taapsee Pannu and Kirti Kulhari, Mission Mangal is based on ISRO's Mars Orbiter Mission, aka Mangalyaan. The intriguing trailer showcases all elements of a patriotic movie, and the actors look convincing in their respective roles.
Trailer is predictable but is filled with emotions
The 2.5-minute-long trailer starts with Akshay assembling a team of scientists to achieve the impossible in ISRO's history. His aim is to fulfill India's dream to become a space superpower. The trailer shows the struggle Akshay and his team face, both personally and professionally, to create history, finally silencing the naysayers. The trailer is of course predictable, but it is filled with emotions.
Akshay, as the pack leader, nails his act
Akshay is seen playing the role of a senior scientist, who is heading the mission, which still remains a milestone in Indian space research. The superstar looks respectable in his role as he leads the pack of women scientists, who have played a crucial role in the Mars mission in reality. He looks authentic and delivers a motivating speech while encouraging his team.
'Mission Mangal' celebrates the power of ISRO's women scientists
For the uninitiated, Mission Mangal is a tribute to those women scientists in ISRO, who have played a pivotal role in the Mars Orbiter Mission. "Be it making a home or launching a successful space mission, women know it all," Akshay had written on Twitter.
Trailer leaves a mark, but the dialogs steal the show
Apart from Akshay, the trailer also shows how the characters of Taapsee, Sonakshi and Vidya refuse to succumb to family and societal pressures, and walk the extra mile to fulfill the mission. The trailer looks awe-inspiring, but it were the dialogs that stole the show. They are bound to ignite the patriotic fire in you, giving you goosebumps.
'Mission Mangal' to clash with John Abraham's 'Batla House'
Helmed by Jagan Shakti, Mission Mangal will hit theaters on August 15 this year. The movie will lock horns with John Abraham's Batla House. Batla House narrates the controversial story of Batla House shootout that happened on September 18, 2008. Interestingly, John is unfazed with the box office clash and said that "there is enough space for the audience to choose their movie."
