TamilRockers at it again! Leak Akshay's 'Kesari' in HD quality
Akshay Kumar was beaming with pride after his recent release Kesari opened to rave reviews from audience and critics. However, this happiness was short-lived as the movie became the new target of piracy. According to media reports, Kesari was leaked online by piracy giant TamilRockers, a day after its theatrical release. Reportedly, the movie was available for free download in HD quality online.
Nothing new, TamilRockers targeted every release of 2019
Despite all efforts, piracy is a menace that has been troubling all the filmmakers these days. Undoubtedly, the Kesari team was shocked by the leak but it isn't the first movie to have fallen prey to piracy. Earlier, TamilRockers have targeted every new release of 2019 including Uri: The Surgical Strike, Badla, Gully Boy, Manikarnika: The Queen Of Jhansi, Aquaman, etc.
The piracy giant has been banned innumerable times
Notably, the Indian judiciary system took strict actions to prevent piracy lately. In fact, the Madras High Court put a ban on 12,000 sites in 2018 to curb piracy. However, among the banned sites, TamilRockers alone had access to 2,000 of them. Although the piracy giant has been banned innumerable times, with every movie leak, they reportedly come with a different proxy server.
'Kesari' narrates the story of Battle of Saragarhi
Coming back to the movie, Kesari narrates the incredible story of the Battle of Saragarhi, which was fought before the Tirah Campaign. For the uninitiated, this battle was fought between 21 soldiers of the British Indian Army's Sikh Regiment and 10,000 Afghan tribesmen in September 1897. The regiment, which was led by Havildar Ishar Singh, refused to give up and fought to their death.
'Kesari' sets box office on fire, but will it last?
The intriguing trailer created the right amount of buzz among the fans and it was evidently visible with the first-day collection of Kesari. The movie has raked in Rs. 21.5 crore on its opening day and became the highest opener of 2019. However, given its online leak, just after the release, we wonder how long Kesari will be able to survive at box office.
