The film has been directed by Reema Kagti
'Gold' is Reema Kagti's third directorial venture after multistarrer 'Honeymoon Travels Pvt. Ltd.' (2007) and Aamir Khan's 'Talaash: The Answer Lies Within' (2012). The film marks the Bollywood debut of telly star Mouni Roy and has been produced by Farhan Akhtar and Ritesh Sidhwani. It narrates the historic story of the Hockey team that won India its first Olympic medal as a free nation.

'Gold' will hit the screens on August 15. It will be clashing with John Abraham's 'Satyamev Jayate' and Dharmendra, Sunny Deol and Bobby Deol starrer 'Yamla Pagla Deewana Phir Se'.
