'Ram Setu': Akshay Kumar and team leave for Ayodhya
Bollywood superstar Akshay Kumar zoomed off to Ayodhya on Thursday to film the muhurat shot of his next project, Ram Setu. The team will be shooting the sequence from the Ram Janmabhoomi. Actresses Nushrratt Bharuccha and Jacqueline Fernandez, who are also part of the project, were seen boarding a private plane in the picture that Kumar shared on social media today. Here's more.

Kumar looked dapper in casuals as he posed with his leading ladies. While the 53-year-old donned a black shirt and green trousers, both Bharuccha and Fernandez were seen in white outfits. "A special film, a special start. And so the journey begins. Need special wishes from all you guys," the superstar wrote as a caption.
He plays an archaeologist in the movie
The project was announced on Diwali last year, and a few days ago, reports hinted at the team's plans of filming the muhurat shot in the temple town of Uttar Pradesh. Director Abhishek Sharma and creative producer Dr. Chandraprakash Dwivedi will join the cast there. Kumar plays an archaeologist in the movie. His character is inspired by several Indian and international archaeologists.

It's the first Bollywood movie to be produced by Amazon
Interestingly, Ram Setu is the first Bollywood film to be co-produced by Amazon Prime Video. "We are delighted to further take a step into co-producing by collaborating with a film that highlights our Indian heritage," said Vijay Subramanium, the head of content at Amazon Prime Video India. In a post, the OTT platform said the movie "is a bridge between generations past, present and future."

Kumar will be seen in 'Sooryavanshi' this April
Kumar, known for juggling projects, has other movies in his kitty. Recently, the release date of his much-coveted cop drama Sooryavanshi was revealed. The movie will be hitting the cinema halls on April 30. Sooryavanshi is part of Rohit Shetty's cop universe and Kumar's character, DCP Veer Sooryavanshi, was first introduced in Ranveer Singh's Simmba, which had released in 2018.
