As surprising as it might sound but Akshay Kumar was not the first choice of Twinkle Khanna for 'Padman' At a promotional event for this Balki-directed film, Twinkle told a news agency, "R Balki (director of PadMan) convinced me that Akshay should do this part." Here are the details.

When journalists present at the press conference asked Twinkle, who was her first choice for the film if not Akshay Kumar, the sassy actress replied, "Are you trying to create trouble in my marriage now?" This was followed by a hilarious comment from Akshay: "You already said that now (I was not your first choice for the film), there is already a problem."
About the film 'Padman'
'Padman' is based on the story of Tamil Nadu-based social activist Arunachalam Muruganantham, who is the inventor of a low-cost sanitary pad making-machine. He has innovated grass-roots mechanisms for generating awareness about traditional unhygienic practices around menstruation in rural India. He was awarded Padma Shri by the Government of India; he also featured on Time Magazine's list of '100 most influential people'.
