Ajay Devgn is part of 'Chhaava'—but there's a twist
What's the story
Vicky Kaushal and Rashmika Mandanna's historical drama Chhaava is all set to hit theaters on Friday (February 14).
In a surprise revelation, Ajay Devgn has reportedly been roped in for a voiceover in the upcoming movie directed by Laxman Utekar and produced by Dinesh Vijan.
A source close to the project told Pinkvilla that Devgn "instantly agreed" to lend his voice when approached by Vijan and Utekar.
Voiceover impact
'Chhaava' to benefit from Devgn's powerful voiceover
The source elaborated on why they chose Devgn for the voiceover, saying, "Ajay Devgn is among the very few actors of Indian Cinema who has the power to influence the audience with just his voice."
"His dialogue delivery, especially in the intense space, can elevate the impact of the scenes on the big screen."
The insider also said that Devgn has already dubbed for Chhaava.
Historical connection
Devgn's previous experience with historical dramas influenced decision
The insider further revealed that Devgn's earlier work in Tanhaji: The Unsung Warrior, a film on Maratha warrior Tanhaji Malusare, made him excited to lend his voice to Chhaava.
"He was more than willing to lend his voice to another film that celebrates the unsung warrior, Chhatrapati Sambhaji Maharaj on the spectacle."
"He has already dubbed for his portions, and the voiceover has brought in a new dimension to the story-telling of Chhaava," added the insider.
