Aishwaryaa-Dhanush end reconciliation rumors; final decree set for November 27
Putting all rumors of reconciliation to rest, Aishwaryaa Rajinikanth and Dhanush have confirmed their divorce in a Chennai court. The couple, who tied the knot in 2004 and have two sons, announced their separation on social media in January 2022. Although there were rumors of a possible reunion with Aishwaryaa's father, Rajinikanth, intervening, both parties confirmed their wish for divorce on Thursday.
Aishwaryaa-Dhanush's divorce case: Multiple hearings and final date
The divorce case has been heard thrice before, with neither party appearing for any of the hearings. However, Aishwaryaa appeared in court on Thursday when a new date of hearing was set for November 27. On this day, the final decree of divorce is likely to be issued. Notably, the couple started dating in 2003 after Aishwaryaa was impressed by Dhanush's performance in Kadhal Konden. After 18 years together, they announced their separation but remain committed to raising their sons.
Aishwaryaa-Dhanush's co-parenting and recent controversy
Despite their separation, Aishwaryaa and Dhanush still live close to each other in the Poes Garden neighborhood in Chennai and co-parent their sons, Linga and Yatra. They often post pictures with their kids on social media. Meanwhile, recently, Dhanush found himself in a controversy after actor Nayanthara accused him of stopping her from using behind-the-scenes footage from their movie Naanum Rowdy Dhaan in her recently-released Netflix documentary.
