Abhishek-Aishwarya to star in Sanjay Leela Bhansali's next?
Abhishek Bachchan and Aishwarya Rai are one of the most sought after couples in Bollywood. However, it's been a while since the duo shared the screen space. They last appeared in Mani Ratnam-directorial Raavan in 2010. But now it looks like the wait is finally over as Abhishek and Aishwarya have, reportedly, been roped in for Sanjay Leela Bhansali's Sahir Ludhianvi biopic. Here's more.
Abhishek and Aishwarya to relive Sahir, Amrita's love story
According to a report published in Mid Day, Abhishek will be seen stepping into the shoes of Ludhianvi, a renowned lyricist, in the biopic. On the other hand, Aishwarya will portray celebrated Punjabi poetess Amrita Pritam. It is reported that this Bhansali directorial, which was in the pipeline for a long time, will be based on Sahir and Amrita's much talked about love story.
Aishwarya had dropped hints about a 'wonderful script' she's okayed
Interestingly, Aishwarya had also dropped hints about her next project recently. In fact, she was all praises about the "wonderful script" she will be working on "much later this year." "I have just very recently okayed a wonderful script and idea and character. So, I'll let them make the announcement. And that is to start much later this year," Aishwarya was quoted saying.
Abhishek and Aishwarya were offered 'Gulab Jamun,' both walked out
To recall, Abhishek and Aishwarya were also roped in for Anurag Kashyap's Gulab Jamun in 2017. While fans were quite excited to watch them together, much to everyone's disappointment, they walked out of the project over creative differences early this year. "Abhishek-Aishwarya suggested certain changes. While things were being worked out, they seem to have changed their mind," a source reportedly stated.

Abhishek and Aishwarya have done seven movies together, and were last seen in Raavan. Ever since Abhishek has been looking forward to working with Aishwarya. "I think I've done more films with Aishwarya than with any other female co-star. She has always brought out the best in me. I'm excited to get in front of the camera with her again," Abhishek once stated.
Meanwhile, Bhansali will collaborate with Salman after 20 years
Meanwhile, Bhansali, recently, surprised everyone after he announced his reunion with Salman Khan after two decades. The actor-director duo had done a full-fledged movie last in 1999, Hum Dil De Chuke Sanam, which also starred Aishwarya in the lead. It is now reported that Salman-Bhansali's collaboration will be a love story, and is likely to hit the floors in September this year.
