Friends to fiancés: Ira Khan-Nupur Shikhare's journey in a nutshell
Aamir Khan's daughter Ira Khan is only a few months away from marrying her beau Nupur Shikhare. The two will reportedly get married in January 2024. Becoming friends
Ira was previously dating Mishaal Kriplani, with whom she broke up in the year 2020. Shikhare, on the other hand, was the fitness coach of Ira. The two soon became friends and continued to spend quality time while getting to know one another better. What started as friendship for the two of them, soon turned into a relationship the same year.
Maintained secrecy around their relationship
The lovebirds started dating but decided to keep their relationship a hidden affair from the public eye. They maintained secrecy over their relationship but didn't compromise on taking trips together. In fact, if reports are to be believed, Shikhare also visited Aamir's Mahabaleshwar farmhouse to spend time with Ira. Unlike their PDAs now, they didn't post pictures on the internet until they were official.
It's official!
The couple decided to take the plunge and met each other's families pretty quickly. After dating for two years, they went public with their relationship. In fact, Shikhare also proposed to Ira at one of his cycling events in September 2022 where he popped the question. A video of the romantic proposal was shared by Ira on her social media handle.
The official engagement ceremony in Mumbai
About two months after Shikhare's adorable public proposal to Ira, an official engagement ceremony was hosted for the couple in Mumbai. From Ira's parents to Kiran Rao, Azad Rao Khan, and Imran Khan, family and friends attended the ceremony. Shikhare once again went down on his knee, and proposed to Ira. The pictures from the ceremony were later shared by the star kid.
All set for their Udaipur wedding
The lovebirds will finally be getting hitched in January 2024. As per reports, they will first have a court marriage, followed by a three-day wedding in Udaipur, Rajasthan from January 8 to January 10. A grand reception is also in place which will be hosted by the bride's father, Aamir, in Mumbai, and is expected to be attended by the who's-who of the industry.
