Madalsa Sharma, who played the character of Kavya in the popular TV show Anupamaa, has decided to quit the series, reported Times of India. The actor said that her decision was not sudden and had been on her mind for a while now. Sharma said that she felt there was not much "spice or spark" left in her character. Here are more details.
'Story moved on from Vanraj, Kavya, Anupama'
Speaking to The Times of India, Sharma said, "When the show started in 2020, there were three main characters - Anupama (Rupali Ganguly), Vanraj (Sudhanshu Pandey) and Kavya." "Kavya was shown to be an independent and strong woman, who had the guts to fall in love with a married man and pursue him." "My character had tremendous growth, but in the past one year I felt that the story moved on from Vanraj, Kavya and Anupama."
'Family felt that I should move on'
Sharma, who has been married to Mimoh Chakraborty for six years, said, "My mother, husband and father-in-law (Mithun Chakraborty) felt that I should move on if I want to pursue other things and grow." She added, "Producer Rajan Shahi sir and I mutually decided it was best for me to move on." "I wanted to leave the show when my character was being appreciated and liked. This character will always be close to my heart."

Sharma's exit comes a few days after Pandey's departure, who played Vanraj on the popular show. In a video on Instagram, he revealed, "I want to tell all of you with a heavy heart that I am now not a part of Anupamaa show." He further added, "I will play various new characters, will not bore you in one role. Please keep supporting me in future." The show also stars Gaurav Khanna in a central role.
