Sridevika accuses Thulasidas of misconduct on 'Avan Chandiyude Makan' set
Actor Sridevika has accused Malayalam filmmaker Thulasidas of inappropriate behavior during the filming of Avan Chandiyude Makan (2006). This follows similar allegations made by actor Geetha Vijayan against the director. In an interview with regional media, Sridevika detailed her experiences with Thulasidas, including his persistent disturbances in her room late at night. Despite her mother's presence, the filmmaker's actions continued for several days.
Sridevika's mother raised concerns about daughter's safety
Sridevika's mother, alarmed by Thulasidas's behavior, expressed concerns about her daughter's safety on the film set. The actor managed to relocate to a different room after informing another actor about the situation. According to Onmanorama, Sridevika alleged that she had previously reported this issue to the Association of Malayalam Movie Artists (AMMA) in 2018. She claimed that Thulasidas retaliated by removing her scenes and dialogues from the film.
AMMA's inaction on Sridevika's complaint
Despite Sridevika's complaint, AMMA failed to take any action. The actor had previously shared her experiences on Facebook in 2018, criticizing the association for its inaction. She said, "When I entered the film industry as a newcomer in 1991, I faced a bad experience. I responded immediately and said 'no' where it was necessary. This made me an outcast in the eyes of many." This incident has resurfaced in light of the recent Hema Committee report.
Vijayan's allegations against Thulasidas
Vijayan also accused Thulasidas of inappropriate behavior while filming Chanchattam. She alleged that the director persistently knocked on her door and called her room phone. Although she clarified that she was not physically harmed by the filmmaker, she described the experience as unpleasant. Vijayan also claimed that Thulasidas threatened to remove her from the film after she confronted him about his actions.
Thulasidas denies allegations against him
In an interview with a regional Malayalam publication, Thulasidas denied the allegations made against him. He stated, "We were all happy during the filming of the movie. Nothing that relates to a bad experience happened on the film set. I don't know why she made such an allegation against me."
