YRF 50: Yash Raj Films to announce five new movies
With cinema halls and theaters going back to function with 100% occupancy, filmmakers are finally gearing up for their big releases. In the same vein, the owner of Yash Raj Films, Aditya Chopra is all set to unveil his plans for "YRF 50," as the production house recently completed 50 years. The plan reportedly includes the announcement of five new films. Here's more.
'YRF to roll out their ambitious celebration plan'
A source revealed to Bollywood Hungama, "With theaters now operating at 100%, YRF will now roll out their ambitious celebration plan comprising the much-anticipated slate announcement that is expected to blow people's mind (sic)." "A very ambitious plan has been set to motion by Adi and he is holding the cards very close to his chest," the source further added.
Announcement to happen on grand scale, source says
"The production house has stood by the theater owners by not putting any of its films on OTT and it now wants to tell audiences that YRF films are only meant to be big-screen experiences...The scale of this announcement will wow everyone," the source informed.
Recently, YRF completed 50 years in business
Last year, YRF, one of the biggest production houses of India, completed 50 years in showbiz. A big celebration was on the cards but it was postponed due to COVID-19 pandemic. Remembering his father, late filmmaker Yash Chopra, Aditya Chopra had said in a statement, "Conviction of a creative man backing nothing but himself and his art gave birth to Yash Raj Films (sic)."
YRF has several exciting projects coming up
Apart from the five new films, YRF will also give update on some of its highly-anticipated projects. They include superstar Shah Rukh Khan's Pathan, also starring actors Deepika Padukone and John Abraham in pivotal roles. Other YRF movies - Sandeep Aur Pinky Faraar, Prithviraj, Shamshera, Jayeshbhai Jordaar, and Bunty Aur Babli 2 - will also be out soon.
