Born on November 12, 1987, Indian stand-up comedian Aditi Mittal, who is also an actress and writer, is one of the first women to work as a stand-up comedian in India. Rated amongst India’s top 10 stand-up comedians by ‘The Times of India,’ she was also named as one of the top 30 “witty, intelligent, and incredibly fun” women to follow on Twitter by ‘CNNIBN.com.’ Her columns and articles have been published in ‘Grazia’ Men magazine, ‘Firstpost.com,’ ‘Financial Times,’ and ‘DNA.’ Mittal was also amongst the first five Indians to be featured in ‘Local Heroes,’ organized by UK-based ‘The Comedy Store.’ Mittal was invited by the ‘BBC’ for the 100 Women Conference in London in 2013 and in the same year, she made her debut in her solo show ‘Things they wouldn’t let me say.’ Released in 2017, her YouTube series, ‘Bad Girls’ features women activists. Mittal was accused of sexual harassment by comedian Kaneez Surka in 2018. Surka has publicly posted about the matter and later Mittal had apologized for the discomfort she caused due to her act.
