Adil Hussain responds to Sandeep Reddy Vanga's 'greedy' remark
Director Sandeep Reddy Vanga and actor Adil Hussain have been at a war of words over the 2019 Hindi blockbuster Kabir Singh. The controversy emanated from Hussain's remarks about feeling "embarrassed" to be a part of KS due to its overtly misogynistic overtones. Reacting to this, on Thursday, Reddy Vanga called Hussain "greedy" and threatened to replace his face with "AI." Now, Hussain has responded and it looks like he isn't ready to put down his weapons.
'I will not change my stand'
Speaking to ToI, Hussain said, "I am in the US right now and I haven't seen Sandeep's post. Neither do I intend to." "What I said about Kabir Singh was in an interview and not on social media. I was completely shocked when I saw the film and I regret doing it." "I will not change my stand." It remains to be seen if Reddy Vanga will have another response to this.
This is what Hussain had said about 'KS'
Earlier, Hussain said during AP Podcast, "That's the only film in my life that I have done without reading the script, without seeing the movie on which it is based." "I think a film like this, it celebrates something which is not beneficial for society. It legitimizes male misogyny." "It legitimizes violence against anybody for that matter, doesn't have to be a woman. And it celebrates it, it glorifies it and it should not be glorified."
Director Vanga's response to Hussain's criticism on X
In response to Hussain's critique, director Reddy Vanga expressed his disagreement on X on Thursday afternoon. He posted, "Your 'belief' in 30 art films didn't get as much fame to you as your 'regret' of 1 BLOCKBUSTER film did," followed by a clap emoji. He further stated, "I regret casting you, knowing that your greed is bigger than your passion. NOW I'll save You from the shame by replacing Your face with AI help."
