'Mahabharata': Here's our dream cast for the mega project
Witnessing one of the greatest Indian epics, 'Mahabharata', unfold on the big screen will be an experience of a lifetime. The recent reports of Aamir Khan gearing up for the project have made all of us excited to the core. As a result, we could not resist coming up with the names of the stars whom we would like to see in the film.
Amitabh Bachchan as Bhishma Pitamah
An unparalleled archer and warrior of his time, Bhishma Pitamah is one of the most potent characters of 'Mahabharata'. Megastar Amitabh Bachchan, with his supreme acting prowess, can aptly step into the shoes of the oldest stalwart of the Hastinapur kingdom. Also, Big B's presence will add to the grandeur of the film.
Prabhas as Karna
Prabhas's stellar act in the 'Baahubali' series convinced us to pick him for essaying Karna, the central character of 'Mahabharata'. An invincible warrior with an ill fate, Karna is one of the unsung heroes of the epic. The 'Saaho' star will convincingly bring the iconic character to life.
Aamir Khan as Krishna
No other actor can portray Krishna on the celluloid better than Aamir Khan. Known for going deep into the skin of his characters, Mr. Perfectionist has often talked about taking up the role of Krishna. However, his favorite remains to be Karna. Krishna is easily the most lovable character of 'Mahabharata'.
Hrithik Roshan as Arjun
Hrithik Roshan will fit the bill perfectly as the most adorable disciple of Guru Dronacharya, Arjun. The superstar has efficiently played varied characters in his career so far and this will be another challenge that he would love to embrace. Arjun is known for stringing numbers of arrows within a fraction of second with unmatched accuracy.
Akshay Kumar as Duryodhana
It will be extremely enthralling to see Akshay Kumar as Duryodhana. Going by the fact that Akshay has experimented with different genres throughout his career, we are sure that he will have a trick up his sleeve for this one too. Despite being an epitome of friendship, Duryodhana was on the side of the evil.
Vidya Balan as Draupadi
We all are well aware that Vidya Balan is a powerhouse of acting. Over the years, she has proved her versatility umpteen number of times, therefore, we did not even have to think before reckoning her name for the role of Draupadi. The grace with which she has played all her characters so far makes her the top contender for this one.
Salman Khan as Bheem
Fans will be thrilled to see their beloved Bhaijaan as Bheem in 'Mahabharata'. Also referred as Bhimasena, he slew all hundred Kaurava brothers in the Kurukshetra war. Salman, who is often seen in larger than life action avatar in his films, will be a suitable choice for the role.
Manoj Bajpayee as Shakuni
The character of Shakuni, who is often credited as the mastermind behind the Kurukshetra war, is a tricky one and requires to be portrayed by an actor who really knows his craft. That is where Manoj Bajpayee comes into the picture. Only a performer of his caliber can pull off such an exacting role. We really hope that 'Mahabharata' is soon set in motion.
