Vijay unveils new party flag, vows to end caste divisions
Tamil superstar Thalapathy Vijay, who is entering politics with his party, Tamizhaga Vetri Kazhagam (TVK), unveiled the party's official flag on Thursday. The flag, featuring a maroon and yellow color scheme with elephants on either side and Albizia lebbeck (a flower signifying victory in Tamil literature) at the center, was hoisted at the Panaiyur party office. An official anthem for the TVK was also launched during the event.
Vijay pledged to uphold equality, remove social differences
While unveiling the party flag and symbol, Vijay took a pledge along with party workers and leaders. The pledge emphasized the party's commitment to honor those who fought for the country's liberation and the rights of the Tamil people. It also highlighted Vijay's promise to eliminate disparities based on caste, religion, gender, and place of birth, while striving for equal opportunities and rights for all.

TVK's political journey: A look ahead
The TVK plans to contest the 2026 assembly polls. The party's formal public launch is set to take place through a massive rally in late September. The process of registering the party under the Election Commission is nearing completion. Meanwhile, Vijay continues to remain active in the film industry. He is preparing for the release of The Greatest of All Time—set for September 5 release. He'll also be seen in Thalapathy 69 before fully embarking on his political journey.
