After battling cancer, Nafisa Ali diagnosed with leucoderma
Veteran actor Nafisa Ali Sodhi has been diagnosed with leucoderma. She shared the news on social media. Nafisa, a cancer survivor, is currently in Goa with her daughter. Leucoderma is a skin condition in which patches of skin tend to lose its natural color. It occurs due to the localization or complete destruction of melanocytes (melanin-producing cells) in the body. Here's more on this.
You win some, you lose some, Nafisa said
Nafisa shared the diagnosis while posting a happy picture of herself on Instagram. The 63-year-old said she started noticing white patches on her neck area since she underwent chemotherapy for her cancer treatment. "Now being by the sea and getting a tan, I can tell it's on my face too. Such is life... you win some and loose some (sic)," the actor further penned.
Nafisa also explained the disorder in detail
Nafisa explained the disorder, writing, "The characteristic formation of white patches on the skin remains closely bound to each other unlike the patches formed in Vitiligo." "Leucoderma is particularly known by the presence of white patches which could be localized to smaller areas in the beginning. However, with the passage of time, the skin patches might get enlarged," she added.
