Glee actor Mark Salling found dead, might have committed suicide
American actor Mark Salling, best known for playing footballer Noah "Puck" Puckerman on Fox's musical comedy-drama Glee, was found dead near his Los Angeles home on Tuesday morning. He was 35. Media reports speculate that he might have committed suicide ahead of his sentencing on March 7. Salling was to get 4-7 years in prison for possessing child sex abuse images. Here's more.
Salling was first arrested in 2015
Salling appeared on Glee for eight years between 2009 and 2015. Following a tip-off, he was arrested in 2015 for possessing thousands of graphic child sexual abuse images on his laptop and hard drive. He agreed to a plea deal in October 2017 to get away with a longer imprisonment of up to 20 years, reported the BBC.
Mark was a gentle, loving person, says his lawyer
"It's a painful loss, again. Two young actors, lost too soon" Glee director Paris Barclay tweeted, along with a picture of himself with Salling and actor Cory Monteith, who also starred in the hit TV series. Monteith died of drug overdose in 2013. "Mark was doing his best to atone for some serious mistakes and errors of judgement," Salling's lawyer said in a statement.
