'Made in Heaven' actor Lalit Behl dies of COVID-19 complications
Senior actor-director Lalit Behl died of COVID-19 complications in New Delhi on Friday. He was 72. Behl's son, filmmaker Kanu Behl, confirmed the news to portals. He said the Made in Heaven actor had contracted COVID-19 a week ago and his other health issues had complicated the case. After the news broke out, many industry colleagues condoled Behl's death on social media.
Issues in the heart, lungs complicated his case
Speaking to PTI, Kanu said his father was admitted to Apollo Hospital in Delhi where he breathed his last. He said, "[Behl] passed away in the afternoon. He had a history of heart ailments and had COVID, so it got complicated. He had an infection in his lungs which got severe and that, with the previous medical history he had, complicated his health further."
'I feel the loss of my father again!' mourned Hussain
Actor Adil Hussain, who played his son in the 2016 drama Mukti Bhawan, penned an emotional note. He said, "Extremely saddened by the demise of one of my dearest and most respected Co-actors, Lalit Behl jee. Who, so brilliantly played the father in @MuktiBhawan!" "I feel the loss of my father again! Dear Kanu I am so very sorry for your loss!" Hussain added.

'He was warm and affectionate and wise,' remembered Ranvir Shorey
Sayani Gupta shared Hussain's tweet and mourned the loss. She also remembered the sudden passing of actor Amit Mistry. Ranvir Shorey shared the link to a news article and expressed his condolences. He said, "Shattered to read this. So many memories. He was warm and affectionate and wise. Learnt so much from him. (sic)" Filmmaker Alankrita Shrivastava and actress Shrenu Parikh mourned his demise.
The seasoned stage actor debuted in films in 2014
Having performed on the stage extensively, Behl went on to debut on the big screen in 2014 in his son's directorial Titli. Before this, he had helmed and produced several Doordarshan telefilms like Tapish, Aatish, Happy Birthday. He acted in the Amazon Prime series Made in Heaven and the Kangana Ranaut-Rajkummar Rao-starrer Judgementall Hai Kya. Behl is survived by his wife and son.
