'Baghban' actress Arzoo Govitrikar files domestic abuse case against husband
Actress Arzoo Govitrikar, who is known for her role in Baghban, has filed domestic violence case against her husband Siddharth Sabharwal. Reportedly, Arzoo had filed the complaint last month alleging that Siddharth assaulted her in an inebriated state. And now she accused Siddharth of taking their five-year-old son in his custody without her consent. This is tantamount to kidnapping, she said in her complaint.
Arzoo provides CCTV footage of assault to prove her claims
Arzoo, who married Siddharth in March 2010, alleged that she has been suffering physical and mental abuse for several years. Arzoo further claimed that on February 15, 2019, Siddharth dragged her inside the bathroom around 4am and hit her viciously. She also submitted a CCTV footage of the camera at her residence to the police on February 19, 2019, to prove her claims.
He threatened to kill my entire family, alleges Arzoo
In her complaint, filed on February 19, Arzoo further mentioned that Siddharth threatened to kill her entire family. Apparently, she moved out of their house after this. Ek Ladki Anjaani Si actress also alleged that this wasn't the first time Siddharth turned violent towards her. Earlier, he reportedly, slapped her after a heated argument on January 22, and repeated it when she protested.
Siddharth booked under five sections of the Indian Penal Code
After Arzoo's complaint, the police have, reportedly, booked Siddharth, a businessman, under the Indian Penal Code Sections 498A (cruelty), 323 (causing hurt), 504 (insult with an intention to provoke breach of peace), 506 (criminal intimidation), and 509 (insulting woman's modesty).

Meanwhile, Siddharth has dismissed all the allegations leveled against him and termed the complaint as a drama by his wife. He also spoke about CCTV footage of him slapping Arzoo and said, "It was she who asked me to slap her saying she was rehearsing for a crime show." Siddharth further emphasized that he will "respond to the allegations on the right forum."
