'Stree 2' update: Abhishek Banerjee says 'VFX will take time'
Actor Abhishek Banerjee has provided insights into the highly-awaited sequel to the 2018 horror-comedy hit, Stree. In an interview, Banerjee divulged details about the film's progress in post-production. He assured fans that Stree 2 would surpass its predecessor in grandeur, and also discussed the intricate VFX work, emphasizing the meticulous attention to detail. Helmed by Amar Kaushik, Stree 2 will be headlined by Shraddha Kapoor and Rajkummar Rao.
Why does this story matter?
Backed by Dinesh Vijan's Maddock Films, the horror-comedy hit Stree is part of its supernatural universe. Stree was followed by Roohi in 2021 starring Janhvi Kapoor and Rao. Following its success, the 2022 release Bhediya, featuring Varun Dhawan and Kriti Sanon, continued its winning streak. In a post-credit scene, viewers were tantalized by the prospect of a crossover between the Stree and Bhediya universes in future projects.

He added, "I was telling my co-actors, for me it was more of nostalgia as we landed up in the galiyas of Chanderi. It was my first film (as an actor in a prominent role)."
'Stree 2' undergoing extensive post-production and VFX work
Banerjee also provided an update on the current status of Street 2. He stated that the team is currently engaged in the post-production process, which includes extensive and time-consuming VFX work. "We are working on the post-production...The VFX will take a lot of time. The director of the film, Kaushik, is a perfectionist. He works on the film till the time he isn't happy about it."
